Some Commonly Asked Questions About Hypnosis
Just what is hypnosis?
The purpose of hypnosis is to bypass what is called the critical factor and that's your conscious mind. Its the uncritical acceptance of suggestion. When information comes into the conscious mind. sometimes deliberately or unintentionally the conscious mind will discard the information without even trying it out. Your unconscious or subconscious will take that information in and use it and decide based on the effectiveness whether it should keep that behavior or not.
Well, I don't want somebody messing around with my mind. I want to be in control all the time. Wouldn't I be turning my mind over to you?
No, quite the contrary. You are actually more in control while in hypnosis then when you are not. Your subconscious is much newer respectful, accessed in hypnosis, than your normal state of mind which is called your conscious mind. Your subconscious would never agree to anything you feel is wrong because your sense of values originates in your subconscious mind.
